POV, I read that Mishler also said that Maharaji admitted that he had allowed his folllowers to see him as God and that he hesitated to deprogram his followers from this belief because this would mean less control and hence less income from them. A few months ago I read about a Dutch ehhh NRM and the leader used the same strategy as Guru Maharaji i.e. speaking in the third person and making claims of divinity. In this way, you can both have your follower believe that you are divine and still deny that you have claimed to be divine. A very clever strategy. Andries
