D....

I have enjoyed reading your posts and sincerely understand where you come from. I too, (as many here) have loved ones...(friends) heavily involved with m & k and have seen their deterioration and wilting from missing out on the nourishment life offers. Money lost, relationships sacrificed and further "seeking" given up on.

However, you do only live once.... (unless you believe in reincarnation which I do not) ... and what you do in this life you do! If you were to say that you were dedicating yourself to a higher truth, or that you were choosing to remain a 'seeker', or that you want only deep and meaningful relationships....I would congratulate you and want to encourage you.

And so it is that many here have expressed what they have found when they in fact 'scratched' beneath the surface of the m & k thing. Putting aside a person's hostility / anger at wasting 10, 20 or 30 (or more) years caught up in the m & k thing.... you will see that most have felt as you state "Oh christ, this is much harder than I thought"!

My suggestion is to remove yourself from the video watching and try to develop a relationship with your family seperate and apart from anything having to do with m & k. When your parents (or my friends) bring up some trite m or k catch phrase, I let it pass without an acknowledgement, if I can, and if unable to... ask that we not bring that stuff up. Move on to something else ... build the relationship on anything other than m or k.

Otherwise, you are just as caught up in it as they are and certainly cannot help them make their way out of the m or k mindthink.

As to the 'facts' of m's lifestyle and his misdeeds... if those things mean little to you ...fine.... but for many ... hearing about them might wake them up to what us going on, under their noses. (so to speak)

You benefitted reading Mike Finch, someone else benefitted by reading M Dettmers, and others benefitted by reading this forum. The point being that what appeals to you may not appeal to another. What you need may not be what someone else needs. Variety... different approaches and multiple speakers all have the same intention which is to warn people of m & k, or at least to offer ...."the rest of the story".

I wish you the best in remaining a "free" person. A slave to no one!

Cheers!
