It's been reading lots of different thoughts and meeting lots of different people that's opened my mind to what you're talking about. Thanks for the words of support, I think this stuff runs deeper into my psyche than I first gave it credit for. I don't know how I can make a clean break though, with my parents involved, that's the problem. I'm very close to them. (Codependantly close? Oh christ, this is much harder than I thought.)
