The first meditation I ever did was at age 15 from a 25 cent tiny palm size yoga book I found at my Aunt's house. The meditation in that book was just as good as what I got from Maharaji except it was SIMPLE and there was no Guru to worship and no bullshit concepts. It was a matter of finding a quiet dark place and devoting the time to it. And it was easy and enjoyable. However, as a young boy my interests were often elsewhere. Here's similar meditation techniques that are found in a book by Michio Kushi: http://drek.us/pages/knowledge_michio_kushi/ Here's Maharaji's techniques: http://drek.us/pages/shri_hans/knowledge.shtml Again, the important part is to find a dark and quiet location and to prepare yourself for the meditation by calming down before hand and avoiding coffee, alcohol, tea, drugs, or excessive activity prior to meditating. Give it the respect and attention it deserves. Try to do it on a regular basis, say, once a day, maybe in the evening before going to bed. Or do it in the morning if that is a better time for you. If you miss a meditation don't sweat it. Just know that it is always there for you and it belongs to you and no one is giving it to you. And that is very much not how Maharaji teaches meditation because he says and they say that without Maharaji the techniques do not work. That is a lie. Try not to expect any big experience when you do meditate. Try to be relaxed. That's it. Oh, and be patient. There's other meditations and you can easily Google to get a list. I also did Transcendental Meditation (a mantra or word) and that worked, too. Maharaji is a drunkard and a liar. He knows nothing about meditation. As a guru he is a disgrace.
