Hiya Nya, Long time no see. I hope all is well with you down there. I’ve been reading the posts about John, and also read some stuff fairly recently when he posted his last message. (I think some sensitive moderator kicked him off the forum at the time.) I missed the story up to this point, but the recent stuff has filled me in a bit. I thought many people were insensitive to John at the time he last posted, perhaps because they were focused on the drama, rather than the health of the main participant. When John first left the cult he was incredibly active. He had articles published and influenced the views of lots of people. Undoubtedly he caused all sorts of problems for the cult and became enemy No1 in Australia. I was surprised by John’s energy in making public the cult’s underside. When I was fired up and in a battle with the cult a few years ago, making public the activities of a full time cult priest and paedophile, Jagdeo, the pressure exerted by the cult to suppress the facts becoming public was widespread and intense. I’m sure that what John went through was far more intense and damaging. They pressured and bullied him to the state where he was forced to sign a confession. Does this sound familiar? The Nazis and Communists were well known for extracting confessions from their opponents. The methods we are most familiar with from the movies is physical torture. But for lots of people behind the iron curtain in the cold war, in Nazi occupied countries in WW2, and today in Abu Ghraib in Iraq, torture isn’t something in a movie. And its victims don’t have a shower, get dressed and go home to continue their normal life afterwards. And in the movie, when the brave resistance fighter is thrown, bloodied, onto the street, after signing a confession that condemns his comrades, the last thing he needs is these people having a go at him. He needs love and care. Not healthy people who have no idea what he’s been through, telling him all the mistakes he’s made. Putting relentless pressure on an individual, to force him, or her, to change their view by threat and fear, is a crude, vindictive, and degrading course of action for any government, group, cult or individual to take. Bullying is bad. Bullies are bastards. .(Remember the televised “confessions” from the US pilots captured in Korea?) For this reason, the cult has again shot itself in the foot. The threats and pressure that forced John to sign a ridiculous confession are now becoming public. The text of John’s “confession” like in the movies)was probably written by a cmmittee of cult officials (…and any criticism I have ever made is a complete lie, and I have personally seen the ex-premies biting the heads from live puppies..etc). Anybody looking at the story can’t help but see the cult in a bad light. They have revealed their darker side. They hate it when their weird and wacko practices and deceits are made public. The cult couldn’t deal with what John was saying in a civilised manner- by openly debating and discussing their points of contention. Instead they used threats and intimidation to get John to sign a page of cult baloney. The real villains of the piece are the anonymous cult droids, pushing their buttons and pulling their levers, without a thought for the damage they are doing to somebody’s life. But in their pathetic heads, it’s all justified, because John was “actively trying to impede the Lords mission on Earth”. But to anyone with the slightest objectivity, the plot runs like this- prominent cult member leaves, publicises cult’s dark side, cult panic and start hounding and threatening recently exited member until he is forced to sign a wacko confession. The cult is a closed little world, with the living Lord sitting on his throne in the top office. Their values are strange, but when they have to come out of Guruworld and explain themselves to the world at large they fuck up. The way they tried to suppress the Jagdeo mess, the way they panicked and attacked John the way they deal with criticism in general (discredit the person bearing the news and ignore the issue) shows them up for what they really are- a tacky, unhealthy little cult. Anth, stuck in corny WW2 analogies. Modified by AJW at Mon, Jul 04, 2005, 04:51:50 |
