Rats, huh? Damn, I played right into that.  I forget how clever you are.

The Really Big Decision:

Upside: After signing some silly confession that after a long day or a couple of months doesn't mean anything and denounce ex-premies and walk away and never say nothing bad about the Guru again a huge crippling financial liability goes away.

Downside: A bunch of people who barely know you that you've met on the Internet say bad things about you until they find something else to talk about.

------OR------

Upside: By standing your ground and not buckling under to the cult a bunch of people who barely know you that you've met on the Internet will say good things about you until they find something else to talk about.

Downside: Be impoverished for the rest of your life paying off a judgement and legal fees and what not.

Jim, this is a no brainer.  It's just a stupid cult.  It's not like we're fighting terrorists that threaten to destroy the world.

I'd like to see you or anyone of us after we've lost our careers, girlfriends/wives and homes and the meager pile of dough we might have saved up over the years.

I suspect we'd sell anything to get back on our feet, including our very own blood at the blood bank.

Jim, you've got it too easy up there in Canada and your gig.  Slip down a notch or two and it all quickly changes.  And at middle age or later there's often not time enough for a recovery.
