Maybe you live in a society where the legal system is just and whole and totally uniquely unflawed.

But Queensland, oh Queensland.

The latest was the case of Queensland Senior Magistrate Di Fingleton.

Ms Fingleton was jailed on June 5, 2002, after she was found guilty of threatening to demote coordinating magistrate Basil Gribbin.

She spend 6 months in jail before the high court overturned the Qld decision as plain  wrong.

The inside story, according to senior Queensland insiders, is that a number of male magistrates decided to teach her a lesson for being promoted over their heads.

Search the Oz press for the full story.

This was definitely a fault in the system. A system that allows interpretation of the law based on the interpreter  having the appropriate position.

In my view the legal profession could take a few leaves out of the pages of the IT profession, and recognise that subjective truths are not sufficient to make judgments.

Sorry if I sound a bit harsh Jim
