According to the Minutes of the War Memorial Board, Rawat had rented Herbst Theater in San Francisco for a UN anniversary talk on June 24-25 for $1200. But if he spoke there, he sure kept it a secret. What happened?
Okay, so this was Gay Pride Weekend in San Francisco, and there were over 1,000,000 people on the street for the parade on Sunday, and Saturday night was the Women's "Dyke March" (aka Pink Saturday), when women take over the City and the men stand on the sidelines and cheer them -- so maybe Rawat had too much competition to give his engrossing lecture on the anniversary of the United Nations.
Gees, first George Bush disses the UN and doesn't even show up for the Anniversary (God does he HATE the UN or WHAT?), but then the Lord of the Universe promises to do an anniversary speech and he doesn't show up either. No President and no darshan either. What have we done wrong?
Could it be that the board got cold (embarrassed) feet and withdrew the offer? The premies in San Francisco, were always the spaciest of the spacy, so maybe they didn't do the preparations to Rawat's "needs."
Or maybe Rawat really is a homophobe like we always thought, and didn't want to be associated with gay pride.
