PETITION TO STOP DEFINED CULT’S FROM USING MISLEADING RECRUITMENT METHODS & FALSE ADVERSTISMENT IN RELIGIOUS AND/OR THEIR AFFLIATED NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS.

In order to prevent possible mental manipulation (mind-control), mental intimidation (blackmail) and mental anguish (such as clinical depression):

In the name of RELIGIOUS FREEDOM it is our fundamental right to be informed about the past and present activities and misleading recruitment methods of (defined cult) religious and/or their affliated non-profit organizations in a clear and objective way.

WE, the under sign believe that (defined cult) religious and their affliated non-profit organizations be required through FEDERAL LAW to provide WARNINGS and/or opposing information such as former member web sites, legal litigations, financial records, etc., just as FDA WARNINGS are provided to the general public regarding food and health products. This information needs to be provided in all their recruitment methods in order for individuals to make an informative choice about future involvement in their (defined cult) religious or affiliated non-profit organizations.

PROPOSED DEFINITION OF CULT:

1) The cult is authoritarian in its power structure.
2) The cult's leaders tend to be charismatic, determined, and domineering.
3) The cult's leaders are self-appointed, messianic persons who claim to have a special mission in life.
4) The cult's leaders center the veneration of members upon themselves.
5) The cult tends to be totalitarian in its control of the behavior of its members.
5) The cult tends to have a double set of ethics.
6) The cult has basically only two purposes, recruiting new members and fund-raising.
7) The cult appears to be innovative and exclusive.
