On the 2004 Grammy Award's "The OUTKASTS" performed there chart topper "Heya" dressed up in Native American stereotypical costumes. The lead singer emerged from a teepee wearing a Chief's bonnet, the female dancers wore very short & povactive green frindge bottoms and feathers in their hair.

It was a circus act!

Many Native American's were appalled by this outwardly disgraceful mockery of us as a nation. To us it was comparable to a white group dressing up like minstrel singers with black painted faces singing "Mammy!"

A small group of us decided to start a online petition to protest OUTKASTS, offensive performance at the 2004 Grammy's http://www.petitiononline.com/2outkast/petition.html

We did receive some media attention but because we are such a small minority we didn't get the amount of attention we deserved.

Because I am new here I don't know if this has been done before, or even if this is something ex-premies would want to do. But perhaps an online petition could be helpful tool in warning others about this cult? Our petition now has over 13,000 signatures and was distributed nationwide.

Just a thought...
