You have no idea why Maharaji drinks. Nor do you have any idea whether he still drinks. Maybe he quit.

Now, my clairvoyance says that Maharaji still thinks he is Divine. I don't think that's changed at all. More than money I think that Maharaji wants adoration. And my 'clairvoyance' is based on seeing Maharaji as recently as 1997, which is what I would categorize as the 'Modern Era'. I think that most premies still believe Maharaji is divine as well.
