I was new to all this in Oct 2000, & still absorbing all the information about everything, so I don't think I paid much attention to the fine print on this issue.

I think the broad conclusion I came to was that as Rawat's father had entrusted the 2 mahatmas Jagdeo & Sampuranand with his youngest child's guardianship, then Prem's relationship with both of them was likely to be much more complicated than that of mere boss/employee. I don't know whether it was the case, but I understood that Terry Yingling's person..........The person who interviewed Jagdeo, following the allegations made on the Internet, was the person who is responsible for the organization in India and the appropriate person to do so........ was in fact Sampuranand, now dead.

What that tells us about these people is probably beyond useful speculation.

Re-reading Dettmer's letter what struck me was... In fact, I would have been very surprised if it came from Élan Vital and/or Maharaji if for no other reason than some of the specific threats that were made would be at odds with the terms of my contractual agreement...

When we get to the point where the people who've signed these feel able to break them with impunity, then we'll find out plenty. That day could be a long way off.
