In fact I thought it was a bit heretical of me but I just could not, could not, could not see him as anything but a simple buffoon.Somehow or other I squared it in my head, though. In fact I never really took to any of the Divine Family and, like Dant, it took a while  to even accept the man himself..GMJ. At first his grotesque super greasy hair, squeaky voice, unintelligible Indian accent and general fatness was a bit of a barrier....shallow person that I am.

I was relieved when his accent became a bit more Americanised and intelligible and very relieved indeed when the Divine family were out of the picture for good. I remember a ridiculous tussle at the PoP when both Mata Ji and Raja Ji were there. Some dispute about prominence of seats/thrones etc. Raja Ji's WPC brigade kept putting his seat somewhere on the stage and Mata ji's minions kept moving it. This was a while before the evening programme....sometime afternoon-ish/late afternoon.

As far as I can recall....yeah, Bholie Ji was music, Balb the brains, Mata the Mother of the Universe ( of course) and Raja Ji ....if I remember... was as his name suggests King of the world ( and one day actually would be). Only of the world, mark, not Great King ....not MAHAraji.
