It boils down to the decision about what's important in one's life - Maharaji or one's own life and the lives of one's nearest and dearest and I know that in my case Maharaji did not hold a candle to what was important to me.
If people want to be Maharaji's devotees then they should be free to do so without hinderance from ex-devotees. If any of them want out then they can come and get help from ex-premies to get their heads together but a confrontation with Maharaji is pointless because it wastes the lives of those who have regained them.
The best thing anyone can do is simply walk away completely. The only duty ex-premies have (in my view) is to help people walk away and keep on walking over the horizon. It's a matter of free will and that must always be respected. If a person wants to rid themselves of Maharajism then they should be free to do so and can be helped in doing so by those who have already taken that step.
Alternatively, if a person wants to be a premie then provided it is their free choice, nobody should stand in their way. Maharaji and his devotees are an established "church" and it is their business what they do. They can be commented on and criticised by former devotees (as on this web site) provided it lies well within the decent respectabilities of free speech and free will.
There need be no battle or war against Maharaji and premies and such an event can only cause harm to those who partake in it - as I see it.
I wish you, John Macgregor, all the best and hope you can walk away from all of this and regain your life. Please see us former devotees of Maharaji as fellow people who have been through much of the same kind of thing as you have although in my case, on a lesser scale. I've been there mate and I've made mistakes but let's not be too hard on ourselves. We are trying to make sense of what has happened to us and if we can help each other to overcome the past then it's the best thing we can do.
Perhaps like you, I don't see this as a battle between Maharaji and ex-premies any more but quite simply, I see it as an enviroment where help can be given without judgement. I hope if you feel the need, you can call upon people here (myself included) to help you make sense of things and certainly, as a listening ear.
My best wishes to you,
Dave.
