You might recall how hard I sparked with Dog.  It's not the reason or anything, but I learned who he was about mid-way through his tenure posting as a premie.  Someone I knew years ago.  What is so amazing is how entirely sharp and funny he is in real life.  You have no idea.  Laurie and I hung out with him one night not so long ago and, just as I recalled from days gone by, the guy's got such a droll, wonderful wit.  I was laughing all night.  But his posts as a premie ...... oh my god, they were so stupid!  Just goes to show you, I guess.

Mel's another story.  Every once in a while I post something to him on AAA where he shows up from time to time to discuss politics.  The guy has never, not once, thanked anyone here for all the time they spent helping him break out.  I keep asking him to drop in some time and tell his story, what was it really like for him posting all that gibberish like GOK's doing now.  Well, to be fair, he did once admit that he was posting things he didn't really believe in after a while.  But even that was like pulling teeth.

I don't know.  Call me old fashioned but aren't there some simple mechanics at play here?  A bunch of us helped pull that guy out of the ditch.  Doesn't it behoove him to do the same for others in the same predicament?

In fact, if you're reading this, San or Dog, why don't you take a moment yourselves and relate to our buddy GOK here how you learned to love your doubts and all that evil stuff?
