San,

I do think it's important to make a distinction between what we each achieve in spite of (or because of) the things we experience - and the agencies that shape the conditions of those experiences.

You say:

>I believe that Prem Rawat did do and maybe even still is doing some good in the world.  His proclaimed task of revealing Knowledge to as many people as he can - taken by itself - is admirable and a worthy mission. <

I'm not sure what 'good' is involved nor why selling a corrupted product - the four techniques taken out of their cultural context are at best useless and at worst decidedly harmful - could be considered either admirable or worthy. Sounds to me a bit like saying it's OK for a Charity to distribute contaminated food  so long as its free to the end consumers.

But what you seem to be saying in the rest of your post is that, despite the failings of Rawat, EV and Knowledge - you are determined to make best use of your experience - to which I say great !

Many of us fell into DLM for reasons of personal difficulty - in my view perfectly reasonbly so. After all for those who are having a crap time in the world,  seeking something 'inside' looks like a sensible option. Of course Rawat and EV use that to disparage exs - we apparently took K for the wrong reasons (funny I don't recall anyone saying that there were right reasons other than genuinely wanting to be initiated).

In my view what is important is that DLM/EV hopefully served some useful purpose for each of us, at least for some short time. But Rawat doesn't have to be on the side of the angels or part of God's plan for that to be the case.

Rawat is nothing exceptional, he's just one of a million users - he just happened  to get a lucky break with the western DLM - does anyone really think he could have prospered in India - the family would have sat on the Satguru very hard should he have behaved as he did without leaving for pastures new.

The place for Gurus is in the classroom, the place for Inspirational Speakers is at the job centre looking for worthwhile employment. And the place for those who sell harmful practices, create organisations in which abusers act freely, and who live off the creativity and energy of others is the pillory of public opinion (and just maybe the Courts)
