Given the political and social unrest from all sides in this war, these front line soldiers are suffering the worst of all physical, mental and emotional stress imaginable. I know what how is to be put in a harms way in a position like this, I served two tours in Viet Nam 67-68.

It is extremely difficult and demoralizing to put one's life on the line daily for a cause many of us did not understand or endorse. What made it worse was there was so much distain and so little support from the South Vietnamese people that we were supposed to be protecting as well.

I like what Kerry said the other day in the debate about "separating the war from the warrior" . Whatever ones view on the war in Irag or Afganistan may be, these men deserve our help with a gesture of support through these packages.

Gifts like these go a long way in promoting goodwill and trust on the ground with the people directly involved where the smallest token of  kindness can bridge insurmountable differences.

It is an act of humanity in an inhumane situation, you can count on my support with this project Gerry.
