I left about 5 years ago after 25 years of active involvement. I never thought I would ever, ever, leave Maharaji and thought anyone that did had either lost the plot or never had it in the first place. In fact when I first read forum 3, I noted the email addresses of all posters who had listed them, with the intent of putting them right!

I still remember the impact of my first post some time later wondering whether it was an act of betrayal. I am clear about one thing - the true act of betrayal would have been to stay with Maharaji once I faced the full extent of his abusive and disfunctional behaviour. It would have been the most terrible betrayal of myself.

It is a credit to you that you are taking the courage to leave. It is not easy and for me, it was one of the most painful and confronting times of my life. For all the good times, my life is so much richer than it ever was with K.

I am still not out publically though I have met or talked to several of the regulars here over the past few years. As Sandford said above, you are in some very good company here. I hope you also get the chance to meet some of the great people that have exed and post here. People who actively embody principles and qualities that have been long missing from EV.
