""A long time ago, when we became ensnared by the cult , How much of it was really our choice as Paddy likes to suggest ? I feel that given our ( often) Judeo-Christian religious backgrounds, once we had been convinced ( and those early premies were fervent and persuasive to a young mind) that the tubby Indian boy was the awaited Messiah (and the Mahatmas knew all the right Biblical quotes to confuse and hook us) and all the other garbage about the purpose of our human body, we had no choice but to join the "mission"."The original post she made definitely said "we had no choice" referring to all premies. Yes down the line I was quickly paraphrasing what had started the thread and didn't bother to quote the exact words. That is why I made that sarcastic comment when you claimed it was her individual belief I was arguing against. If you were reading the whole thread you would have understood exactly what I was referring to. If you believe what I am saying is wrong then attack my argument which in this thread quite simply is that in the 70's everybody had a choice whether or not to accept Prem Rawat and his "Knowledge" when they were introduced to it any at any stage along the process of conversion as every premie belief was openly stated on a nightly basis.
I don't carefully check every word I post here and there are bound to be minor misquotes and misstatements. It seems to me that you are concentrating on those minor errors and ignoring the actual arguments the posts are based on.
I apologise for the "do you actually read the posts" quip and I am happy to acknowledge any error in my arguments.
