'So, I contend that premies understand a lot about where ex-premies are coming from; the reverse cannot be said. Premies' understanding encompasses a dimension that is unknown to ex-premies, i.e., seeing those nasty doubts for what they really are.' Hi, jonx, I guess that really counts as a classic. 'Those nasty doubts.' Do you really mean the confrontation of reality with the conditioning you have received over many years? 'With respect, the book is not closed; there is more to understand about Maharaji than you think you already "know".' Do you mean a slipstream we flow into maybe after we manage to crush those 'nasty doubts'? We flow into a further awareness superior to being a human with some natural thinking ability, assessing our prior experience of M and K against the now well-known facts? What you seem to be saying is that everyday thinking and rationalism is what needs to be overcome. To supercede honest thought in favour of a blind faith in Maharaji's every action. If so, this to me sounds like exactly the route to bedlam or enlightenment. Personally, I think it will be the former. Nothing within human history, including the heights of any previous teacher, excludes our totally natural capacity of free thought and conscience. Indeed, it seems to me, all teachers of any merit, and the whole history of human enlightenment, teaches that what we learn and hear within from our own conscience is really the gateway to true understanding and harmony. 'Nasty doubts'. There's something so divvy and childlike about that which awakes a compassionate feeling towards you personally. Take care of yourself, and I'm sorry that your attempt at some intelligent analysis tailed into some odd childish type of self-exposure. Tempora |
