A few years back I was taken to a presentation locally concerning magnetic shoe insoles and body pads to counteract the (wide variety of) ailments we townies allegedly suffer through disturbance of natural electro-magnetic earth force fields. What I found very confronting and intriguing was the similarity with a host of EV events I had known. There was the same scenario of well-besuited attractive presenters, beautifully turned out and scripted for an effective marketing appeal. The vibe was 'pure' and actually uplifting, in the sense which I recognise now was a number of people attuned and mentally focused towards a streamlined target. And there was that NLP presence, in that ordinary reasoning is abandoned in favour of a set of simplistic 'positive' memes or propositions, enforced by that set of apparently idealisedly aware human role models. The intriguing point is that many of such presentations contain kernels of fairly well-known universal principles, and so have a temporary beneficial effect. They are based upon human charisma, but, as you say, the presenters can never really respond to ordinary common sense questioning, as they are programmed to a set message which is based upon bypassing the same. Consequently, attendees may leave highly uplifted, for a certain period. Needless to say, they commonly never address the fundamental aspects of everyday life. Maybe this doesn't have too much to do with Landmark, but certain aspects may be similar. In regard to spiritual movements, such approaches are commonly feeble, in that they tickle internal feelings, but without any sense of a comprehensive spiritual outlook which incorporates very real everyday human reality, a sound ethical fabric, and an integration with the long-term emotional and historical human history of spiritual maturity.
