Also, d, regarding "offensive language" of ex-premies | |||

I'm restating some of what I said down below on the issue of "offensive language" (or so the accusation goes)on ex-premie forums and websites. That's not completely accurate, for one thing, and there are several ex-premies websites that serve different purposes, so you can't judge them in the same way. For a website that does not use inflammatory language, and which is very thoughtful -- and which goes to great lengths to explain why the label "cult" might fit, check out www.prem-rawat-maharaji.info The Forum and to some extent EPO also serves the function of letting people who are getting out of the Rawat cult to express their anger, pain, felling of being ripped off, and all the other things that go along with realizing what has happened. So, in that case, for some people at least, it isn't uncommon for people to use colorful langauge. If that "offends" current members, well, that's too bad. But check out the link below for an ex-premie site that doesn't do that. I realize that the "cult" word is a hard one to swallow but the reality is that the Rawat cult IS a cult. It meets all the definitions, and there is nothing wrong with calling something what it is. But being in a cult (like addiction), you wouldn't like that, and part of what a cult is about is preventing you from ever seeing it as a cult. I mean, if you did, you wouldn't be in it. Having been a premie for 10 years, and now out for twice that long, it's clear to me it is a cult. Most definitely. Just ask premie to criticize Maharaji. It will never happen. In anything other than a cult, it would, and a premie should be able to do that if it isn't a cult. The fact that they can't, and FEAR ever doing so, is the clearest evidence that the Rawat cult is a cult. Related link: www.prem-rawat-maharaji.info |
