There is such a thing, as we all know!  And Rawat made ample use of it for his own purposes.  I remember how often he used to say things like "The Master never hides", and "The Master this...or The Master that...", FULLY intending us to translate that syntactical ambiguity into "I...this or that".  Yes, I go back as far as the days when he was saying "Guru Maharaji....this and that", as though it wasn't HIMSELF he was talking about, but the innuendos and implications were always there, and a very significant if somewhat veiled net with hooks was cast across the hall--and how we wanted to be caught!  I'll admit to that!  It takes two to tango.  It takes two to make the power of implication or innuendo work. To be gullible to this still admits a certain amount of innocence, however.  But to play this game as the perpetrator, consciously taking advantage of another--that's reprehensible anywhere, anytime!

Of course, too, he slipped and sometimes made open statements about his divinity , as many documents from the time can attest to.  What's legal, what's not?  What's damaging, what's not?  In the end, you can only extract yourself from a toxic relationship of this kind.  I would like to think we can save others from making the same mistake or having to learn from their own experience--but, and I know this may be a contentious issue--I don't think we can.

Putting information out there is the best thing we can do, so that the bigger picture is more easily seen, and the chance of a real choice being there.
