This forum is all about bringing things out into the open and I am all for that. But it is not about holding a public inquest on John's behaviour (which is where this thread could end up going).

I am really not at liberty to disclose all of the details about how people helped John because doing so could compromise them further. But I thought you would know that he was helped to the tune of several tens of thousands of dollars which he has not repaid. What sort of respect do you consider has he shown?

But he did offer to give money to the cult...
