This line got me thinking. I've been with my wife for 12 years now, so I tried to put myself in your shoes and think how I might act in a similar situation with my wife. What I realized is that I can't imagine getting in the situation in the first place. That is, I wouldn't do something that I know my wife would object to so strongly without first talking to her about it.
