Excellent question, Dant, and I look forward to Tom's answer. I can only speculate that somehow, in some dreamy, idealistic sense, Tom longed for the day that the cult would simply shrivel up and disappear leaving his wife free without him having to be the one to spoil the party. But of course that's just my speculation.  |
