I think John's daughter got involved in a kind of wimpy cult that didn't have much resources, and John was instrumental in destroying it, saving his daughter, and they kind of limped away.

Maybe that emboldened him to think he could mount a crusade against the Rawat cult, but I agree completely that the seeds for personal destruction are laid out in the Rawat ideology, that master is all, and you are nada.  That doesn't go away overnight, no matter how absured you know it to be.

But John was, in fact, highly successful in sticking it to the cult.  There is no doubt about that.  The damage he caused, and the service he did to many people, just by publicizing the truth, is significant, and shouldn't be overlooked, and I believe that sometime in the not-to-distant-future, when John is feeling better, we will hear from him again.
