"Unfounded"  is an interesting word in this context.  It seems that when something is securely founded, then things run smoothly on all levels, including legalities.  Therefore, when you find yourself running up against certain legal difficulites, you might take a look at your very foundation.  Not only is Elan Vital's legal argument unfounded, so is its very existence.

The attempt to use the law to hide facts is in itself a distasteful work.  Censorship is for those who hide facts and are ashamed.   But this legal effort was not only distatseful it was unsuccessful.  The head of Elan Vital in the United States would do well to ask himself why is he on the side of censorship and faulty legal battles.  Surely this cannot feel good.   He should look to the very foundation of his work.  This foundation is, ironically, all about feeling good, feeling a feeling that not only feels good but supposedly has all the power of truth behind it.  But does it?

I, as one of the critics who they have tried to intimidate, respond that the problem is indeed at the very foundation of Rawat's teaching.   Rawat has taken inner peace and truth and the good feeling of the heart and has embezzled them by declaring himself to be their master and the unique revealer of their source.  How any person could have such chutzpah is almost unimaginable, but the fact that he can get other people to believe him is equally astonishing.

Anytime a human being takes on the role of Master or guru, there will be duplicity and conflict.  There will be those trusting fools who hope for quidance and salvation, and there will also be critics.  It happens every time.  Rawat is now at the stage of guruism where he is attempting to present himself and his teaching in an "acceptable" way.  He tries to steal legitimacy from the United Nations Food Program, and he tries to manipulate the press, and he tries to silence his critics with false legal challenges.  He carefully packages his teaching in the attempt to whitewash away any objections.  If his foundation was truthful, he would not have to do any of these things.  And no matter how hard he does these things, they will not work.

His efforts are unfounded, or more precisely, they are founded on a falsehood, the falsehood of guruism.
