Well, Hello again! I've long been slightly interested in Bergson, I might even have tried to read some of his stuff (Ecology of Mind??), long ago.
Nothing wrong with mysticism, as such, though when all is said and done it is about as useful as poetry. But how on earth can one discuss theories of the world with a person who believes in (their own powers of) direct intuition as a means of attaining knowledge? How can one tell *whose* direct intuition is on the money, and whose all at sea? I think we should be told!
Bergson will likely continue to languish way down my "authors-to-read" list. I think I'll be looking at "The Sociology of Religion" sooner. It's a book which I have definitely had my eye on, ever since college days. Juan mentioned it here recently, in the context of the development of the Indian mystagogic tradition.
