Andries, most scholars rely on anecdotal information for their research. First-hand biographical reports usually provide the foundation for scholarly research. Indeed, most scholars would rather study the diary of a fifteenth century farmer than peruse the canon of second-hand, scholarly history books. Likewise with former cult victims and their stories, wouldn't you agree?
