“In essence you're saying that no one who ever really understood Maharaji would ever oppose him.”

Disagree yes, but oppose, no.

“Therefore, everyone who ever opposes him necessarily never [really] understood him.”

Yes.

“What's so stupid about this is that thinking this way is that it leads to the ridiculous position that no one ever understands Maharaji as everyone runs the risk of one day opposing him.”

The greater the understanding, the less likely they are to oppose him. It follows that full understanding means full and unswerving support.

“There's not a single person in the world you can safely point to and say "Yes, that person understands Maharaji"

How would you know? Unless you know what they know, which you never will.

“This makes a mockery of the whole meaning of 'understanding'.”

For you to even be sincere in making this statement, you would have to believe he provides something worthy of a greater understanding, which you don’t. Your statement therefore is only theoretical and so is irrelevant in this case.

“What you really mean to say is that no one who opposes Maharaji supports him.  Now that's a true statement!”

We finally agree on something!
