I am always touched when unexpectedly and out of seemingly nowhere some little essence of genuine truth squeaks out.It is just so true that we are all affected by how others respond to us, no matter how much we pretend to ourselves and the world around us that we aren't.
And yes it is also just as true that when you become an ex, you can soften your heart again. You don't have to be so defensive and hunking around with a chip on your shoulder – so alienated from the rest of the world and humanity. But I think that one can only see that after the fact. Just like that old story that used to be told in satsang, (I guess it came from Rawat or a mahatma), about the frogs in the well. As long as a pwk stays ensconced in his well of devotion to Rawat, she/he will never really know the wonderful world that is waiting to be discovered right over the edge of the retaining wall. When everything you see and experience is filtered by the sunglasses of Rawatism, you are living in a shadow world.
