Of course we believed Maharaj Ji loved us! He was the Lord incarnate on the planet! (or so we once believed).

The BIG question was - did WE love HIM? And it was a question only answered by how deep your devotion was, i.e. did you prove your love for Him via:

1. Donations from your bank account, or

2. Surrender to him by joining the ashram (as per his instructions), or

3. Both the above.

For Maharaji to say He loved us? How cheap that would be! Did Jesus ever say he loved his disciples? No. He encouraged them to love Him. That was the template of adoration the family of Shri Hans Ji Rawat (Maharaji's father) both bought into and were raised in.

The onus was on us, his disciples, to demonstrate OUR love for Him, AND our DEPENDENCY on Him -

- not HIS dependency on us!

(though without us, his current finances would be decidedly poorer!)
