Your comments, with regard to the power fo the music, is most germaine, IMHO. In fact, normally I couldn't wait for the "music," whether we were talking at programs or the simple little arti that was done nightly.  I'm a very "musical" person........ I communicate better with music than I do in my "native" tongue.  I think that probably holds true for a large percentage of premies, both now AND then!

In fact, there was one two-tape (double album) set that I remember.  I think part one was songs made from portions of the guru granth sahib (and maybe other texts), as well as other Indian-like music, then part 2 was more "westernized."  I can remember the songs, but not the titles of them.  Anyway, THAT one was my favorite becasue I was alsways a sucker for sitar, tabla, etc.  Love that stuff!
