That was an excellent analysis and made alot of sense to me. I find that fear of leaving the "group" is a primary reason. Premies may have their closest connections, friends and family who are still involved. There can be a fear of isolation, alienation and being ostracized as well if they left. Also, they like the large events where M. is at. Not only for the social connections but then they can feel like they are part of his inner circle, at least at those moments. Almost like an inside joke they are in on. When those events get a large turnout, they feel like they are still in on something "big". I also think they feel M. is very cutting edge, with all the technology he uses, the satellite broadcasts, live feeds, all the videos, etc. They think the man might actually be "brilliant" and forget the guy barely has a ninth grade education. Anyway, fear and brainwashing seem to be the order of the day for some of those still following the herd.
