Apparently, Facebook has blocked Trump indefinitely and Twitter is giving him one more chance and then he will be banned.

As an American, I was outraged and afraid witnessing the anarchy on the TV yesterday.

I remember after Trump was elected that I was talking to a close relative and I was complaining that Trump was not fit to be President. He told me to just give him a chance. I said No - the guy is a scumbag.

I guess I was right.

yes, I watched it on the news yesterday.  Horrible, but reassuring in a way, at least it wasn't tanks and guns like it might have been in other countries.

Rather fascinating the blocking by facebook and twitter - what happens next?  does he open a gofundme page?  the dark web??

No Mr Drek it must be fake news.  the world can't do without Mr Trump's twittering.

actually I am reaching a point now - I can't stand the fake news any more.  I used to sit there happy in my own brain whatever was going on but now I am sorry to say it appears I am becoming intolerant of the self-centric viewpoint.  I'm an old-fashioned girl - there is such a thing as objective reality and I am truly fed up of the anything goes attitude, ie the absolute imposition of whatever the person wants to be reality as a requirement.

(aunt bea, thanks for the history on the term 'fake news' - now I'm appropriating it to mean what I want all over again. )

At the same time as I am becoming intolerant of fake news I am also beginning to understand it is a brain wiring model, different to mine but just as inherent.  ie if you are like that then emotionally speaking you do just need to be self centric and curl away from even considering the evidence of objective reality.

whereas for me it is not like that at all.  I seek corroboration.

Precedent. We are reaping the consequences of the pardoning of Nixon, not holding GHW Bush accountable for Iran Contra and more. The far right will not give up. They are willing to die in battle for their cause.

Thom Hartmann has been talking about this in the Constitution:
ARTICLE 2 SECTION 2
"and he shall have Power to grant Reprieves and Pardons for Offences against the United States, except in Cases of Impeachment."

Hartmann's interpretation is that if a president is being impeached, he loses his power to pardon. So sTrump may be in the position this coming week of not being able to pardon himself, pardon his family or friends. He has SO PISSED of VP Mike Pence, he may not get his hoped for pardon from him!

IMO, I think sTrump should be charged with sedition, treason, accessary to murder for the riots.

Mike Pence, VP, refuses to invoke the 25th amendment. It gets used by the President voluntarily, if he is say undergoing surgery and will be unconscious  for  a period of time. It can be invoked involuntarily if the VP and a majority of the Cabinet agree that President is incapable of fulfilling his duties. It is then needed a vote from Congress.

I have heard speculation that VP Pence  won't invoke the 25th because he is afraid of being killed by a mob (Russian?) hit. Who knows about that?

I have felt for years that the murder of JFK was in part a mob hit that this country has never recovered from. Once that octopus grips a nation, I don't see how a country recovers. Justice matters. Impeachment matters.

Karen

Image may contain: 1 person, text that says 'Ben Costiloe @BenCostiloe For those wondering if it's worth impeaching him this time, it means he: 1) oses his 200k+ pension for the rest of his life 2) loses his 1 million dollar/year travel allowance 3) loses lifetime full secret service detail 4) loses his ability to run in 2024'
