Seems like they (the government) is taking it quite seriously.

well I have to say, omg, great excitement is going on, my cat has caught a mouse!  she is just over the moon.

with the corona virus thing - yeah lock downs and border restrictions and so on.  I haven't been watching the news of late but we have been living in a corona free bubble hereabouts but now there is fear again and people wearing masks at the supermarket again, more than ever.

I have been, I can't tell you, like the worst bad back ever and I have today like listening to my cat this is a very big experience for her and these last few weeks have been a very big experience for me and finally my back is getting better and it is like breathing new life.

and that poor little mousie and what it takes to love the mouse to catch it and then to dispatch it - ah, beginning to think we might not be going to do the dispatch bit.  too happy with the mouse.  might have a new house pet.

okay so the mouse got eaten.  I watched the news last night -  the border is about to close altogether between us and Queensland and there are 2 local cases.  A couple in their 60's who went to Sydney for a funeral have come back with the virus - both hospitalised one on an incubator.

Oh thank you. I was worried about that mouse...

Interesting how in Australia the government is taking the pandemic very seriously versus the United States.

Hopefully, you guys will be spared the large number of deaths that we are continuing to have here.

Melbourne has just recorded a record overnight death figure. it is a bit of a worry, the second wave, but yes, fractional next to what is happening in the States.

the travel restrictions makes a big difference here in regional Australia - the loss of the tourist dollars bites deep but basically without the constant stream of travellers you can be pretty comfortable that the people around you don't have the virus which counts for a lot.

I have been in my own world needing lots of rest and forgotten about the virus altogether when I finally crawled out and went shopping for myself.   So there was this woman and she seemed to be stuck and I could see the tub of yoghurt I wanted to get and I reached in for it making a slight breach of the new social distancing and oh she goes and turns around, she is elderly and wearing a mask but then instead of moving away she leans in to me, friendly and starts patting me, it was sweet.  I might have been thinking so why wear a mask and then pet a stranger but I was caught up in the moment too.
