He posted his regrets over attending a party in California. The next day, he died of coronavirus

Here's some of the juicy quotes:

"I went out a couple of weeks ago ... because of my stupidity I put my mom and sisters and my family's health in jeopardy," he wrote. "This has been a very painful experience. This is no joke. If you have to go out, wear a mask, and practice social distancing. ... Hopefully with God's help, I'll be able to survive this."

He never made it. He died a day after that post.

A friend who was at the party reached out to Macias to say he had coronavirus, and he was aware of the diagnosis when he attended the gathering but didn't think he could infect anyone because he had no symptoms, Lopez said.

"Our understanding is that a gentleman had called him and said 'hey I was at the party, I knew I was positive. I didn't tell anybody,'" Lopez said. "I think the gentleman was regretting not telling everybody, and he was calling people who were at the party to recommend they get tested."

These kids would probably better off if they were to join a guru cult or something like that. Seriously!

Can stupid be cured? Does she have any regrets?

A Florida mother allegedly took her high-risk teenage daughter to a youth group event at their church, tried treating the girl at home with unproven drugs when she got sick — and then hailed her as a patriot after she died.

Carsyn Davis died June 23, two days after her 17th birthday, after she contracted the coronavirus, reported the News-Press, but former Florida data scientist Rebekah Jones detailed shocking claims in a medical examiner’s report about her illness.

those Muslim martyrs dying for their cause.

Wonder how many will die in the name of 'freedom', and how many they will pass it on to and kill in the process?

yes you are right - it is religion.

But it's alright, we'll all be fine - yesterday I got told that vitamin C makes it impossible for the corona virus to take hold.  Cutting straight to the chase I say the problem with believing you have an unassailable immune system is you don't take the same care not to get infected.  Detailed studies show - there can't be detailed studies showing VitC stops you getting infected with corona virus yet.  oh okay detailed studies show - no they didn't prove it stops people from getting a cold either.  Well they show it helps, oh, and again I interject - all that's really been shown is people can get sick from taking too much vitC.  ah that was too much, I needed to understand there were energetic reasons to believe in vitC.

Not one of the big religions, nice bunch of people really, a small spiritual group.

It just bugs me though, how easy it seems to be to get otherwise normal intelligent people into a state where they abandon notions of a concrete reality having any validity and think that that makes them better than you somehow.

we were just as bad as premies weren't we.  If Rawat had said go forth and be assured your immune system is invincible because of the holy water you sprinkled on your breakfast cereal how many of us would have bought it in homeopathic bottlefuls.

Not sure I would have.  Dunno.  If someone gave me a bottle I expect I would have used it.

In my time of peak premiedom, I was also a student studying microbiology, genetics, biochemistry. Day after day in the lab, we manipulated environments that we grew bacteria in to see how they adapted. We had evolution on display right there in front of us. We saw it in genetics, and the history of the development of biochemicals. So I was as convinced as I could be by our evolution by natural selection.

And yet I also accepted to a large extent Rawat's view as he was promoting it at the time, that we are all here by the grace of some divine force, with the purpose of a select few discovering how great Rawat was. (I know!)

I had a nascent bullshit detector, as I recognised the discrepancy, but it was turned on to just above zero, not high enough to spark rational thought. It seems like events have continually forced me to turn up the volume of the detector throughout my life to frankly scary levels. Mountains of bullshit. It seems the norm, and I sometimes think one thing Rawat may have got right, was the extent of maya, and the huge difficulty of navigating a way through it.

I'm keeping up distancing till we get a vaccine. I don't want the disease, and even if I get no symptoms, I don't want to be a vector and become part of the problem. My lifestyle makes this easy, and I appreciate very many people have much less choice in the matter.

as long as Santa makes it back from the North Pole in time for Christmas.

I remember when we fondly thought evolution meant survival of the fittest, viewed it as a benign process even, despite the claw and tooth.  But yes, it's not like that is it and what we have is mountain ranges of reality-bending bullshit.  It makes me sad.

so there we are, no corona cases in the area but sort of socially distancing around the kitchen counter, eating bowls of rice and veg, one gay, one intersex and one straight and the question is what do you think it's going to be like when you die.

It isn't long before I am protesting that our reality maps might be subjective but there is such a thing as reality.  I mean pinch yourself.  And I get assaulted by a duet of resonance and energy theories.  They flew so fast and mighty that I could not speak, only look on in open-mouthed wonder.

okay okay so I rallied.  yes of course, I say, reality is changing and being shaped all the time but just because it isn't set in stone doesn't mean it isn't still as real as ever.

But no, there's no room for that idea - we're not bodies any more, we're forms.  Energetic forms that change if we grow.  omg.  There was a moment there where I was skittled, by their certainty, by the energy theories themselves, and bowling along with them.  oh right...  yes I can see that...
