Six campaign staffers working on Tulsa rally test positive for coronavirus

Whoopee, we're all going to die!

Here's some of the juicy quotes:

The Trump campaign confirmed six staffers working on the Tulsa rally tested positive for coronavirus.
"Per safety protocols, campaign staff are tested for COVID-19 before events. Six members of the advance team tested positive out of hundreds of tests performed, and quarantine procedures were immediately implemented. No COVID-positive staffers or anyone in immediate contact will be at today's rally or near attendees and elected officials. As previously announced, all rally attendees are given temperature checks before going through security, at which point they are given wristbands, facemasks and hand sanitizer," Tim Murtaugh, Campaign Communications Director, said in a statement.

For the longest time I assumed Trump had just pointed out that testing showed up how many cases there are but then I saw him on the news and he literally said he had told them to slow down the testing.  omg.  omg.

contrast this to the Victorian premier who responded to a small jump in cases with reimposing some of the restrictions.  He said it spreads like wildfire.  He hasn't gone back to complete lockdown - suppression rather than repression - he has taken measures to contain it.  He spoke at length to the public going into all details wanted.

It appears Trump doesn't care about anything but getting re-elected and that is a huge worry in itself.

For a while there, with the bush fires burning, Australia felt like one of the last places on earth you'd want to live, but now being so far away from everywhere else and with a wet period predicted it feels like one of the best!

Yes, more and more (and based on John Bolton's book) it seems that Trump's decision making on every topic is based on his endless effort to get re-elected.

In 2016 everyone thought that Hillary Clinton had it in the bag and it all slipped away and we got Trump. I feel that the same could happen in 2020 and the only way Biden and guarantee winning is by selecting a woman of color as his running mate. And that's the right good thing to do.

Personally, if Trump wins I'm going to completely fall apart psychologically. I just don't think I can handle another 4 years of insanity.

Yes, Australia is hopefully far enough away from all of the craziness and it sounds like the people in government are sane and reasonable.

Lesley, do you have a picture of that lighthouse glass you wouldn't mind showing?

If you look further down the page there's a pic of the lighthouse in a post titled 'and so many interesting parts to the story'.  It is still sitting on the desk.

I have everything ready for the firing. right down to kiln wash on the shelves, but haven't done it yet - it's a long tiring day and I have to wait until I am in good shape to do it and most unusually for me, I have not been sleeping well of late.  Hopefully that will resolve soon.

I wouldn't say the people in government here are sane and reasonable - I don't think you can get far in politics if you have those characteristics.  TBH, I think it's getting pretty rare on the paddock anyway.  But compared to Trump, they are in a lot better shape.

Lesley,

I had assumed you had fired the piece already.

Don't rush it, but would love to see it.

glass is so hard to photograph, but here are a few that give an idea of the glass I have done for the verandah. all fired and ready to go but the quote came in at a very large sum, too rich for me so I am getting some planter shutters at a fraction of the price.  I get the privacy, which was the most important aspect and they work like Venetian blinds so can adjust for light - have just brought the glass up to enjoy it for a while.  you can't see it but the colours are lovely, the black-looking ones are dark green and violet colours against the sunshine.  I'll add a couple more pics in another post so you can see what I mean.

The mockingbird is in the neighborhood, but it doesn't seem to be focusing on just me this time. So, I'm not feeling like I'm going crazy like last year. Last year some new neighbors moved in and they're completely crazy with yelling and screaming all the time and then you add in the mockingbird and, yeah, I was getting very rattled.

I like your pictures of glass and that funny looking bird.

Yes, sleep is almost as important as eating and drinking water in my book. I know that without good sleep that I'm sort of a wreck. When it gets really hot I don't sleep as well.
