Of course. If one person designs a plane that can't fly, it doesn't mean those things we normally see in the air can't be planes.
Ferguson was given a lot of credibility here though, and big decisions were made apparently on his say-so. Really, someone should have checked his code. If my code was going to be so critical, I'd want coders much better than me looking it over!
We've got crowded tube trains in London already. People have had enough, and the messy messaging here hasn't helped. I'll also wager heavily on another wave. I don't think the number of infected people is yet below the number that inspired the decision to start the lockdown, so how can the lockdown be lifted without the numbers rising again?
