We can't avoid ideology. It's the context for our ideas. Jim was critical of people not taking Chinese ideological zeal seriously enough. This seemed funny to me as Jim seems quite the ideological zealot himself. As in fanatical and uncompromising.
He seems as happy to fire his passionate invective at the Chinese as he has been at his previous targets. I don't know why. Sure, the Chinese have some questions to answer about the initial cover up and needs to help identify the origins of the virus, but Trump's dithering and assertions that it's nothing or its all under control is just criminal incompetence. And his support for the protesters is nuts. But none of that for Jim. It's just the Chinese. They can be the scapegoats.
