That's just the way it goes, Lesley. People generalize and always will. For better or worse, that's life. If buddy doesn't want to be stereotyped at least in first impressions, he should do whatever he can to send contrary signals. If enough Muslims broke ranks and braved the murderous wrath of their co-religionists, the stereotypes would begin to fade. |
