Cannot we have grades of badness. We do have grades of badness, that's what allows the argument to be made.

What did making the young Prem Rawat act as a Perfect Master entail that can be defined as abuse? Surely 'abuse' must include violence and cruelty. The only thing Rawat has complained of that meets the criteria are the PT classes which was part of his normal schooling.

He was being taught the family business and it came with many perks. Accepting gifts. Being fawned upon. Being carried on thrones through cheering crowds. I learnt how to carry thousands of bricks a day with painful fingers rubbed raw and dig holes in rock with crowbars as part of my uncle's family business.

I didn't have to continue working as a bricklayers' labourer and he didn't have to continue working as God. The choice was his and he took his training and ran with it and showed very little gratitude to his mother for providing him with the opportunity.

I think that the Worst Negates the Bad Fallacy argument is a Straw Man argument. The Things could be Worse argument doesn't purport to show that a bad situation is not bad, but brings a sense of proportion to the level of badness.
