Yes there was fear though I think he got a bit carried away in that satsang but then there were the thrills. Having this father who attracted all these people, living high with servants and cars, getting up on stage and being adored and cheered, knowing that people are talking about how you'll be the next person to inherit all this from your Dad and you get to wield the stick but even better, its your ticket to the West, the land where dreams come true, the land of Boeing and Hawker-Siddeley and Cessna and Lear and Bombardier and GULFSTREAM.

My younger grandson loves fishing, he's got a chart he studies of all the species of fish. I bet Young Sant Ji had charts and books about aeroplanes and he'd study them and dream and he knew what his ticket out of Dehra Dun and into the cockpit was. It was the Perfect Master ticket and he couldn't wait to have it stamped.

I'm old enough to have been frightened of being beaten with a cane rod at home and at school and actually being beaten quite often. It was part of life in 1950s Australia, it was probably even worse in India. I know the fallacy, but if being beaten is normal then its not that bad.
