It was at an event in Chicago in about September, 1973. She was sitting with her feet on a pillow at the front edge of a three-foot stage (just the right height for foot kissing) along with Maharaji who was situated at the center of the stage. No one gave any instructions not to kiss here feet so everyone filing by towards Maharaji just assumed they were supposed to. She just sat there and allowed it.
When I kissed her feet, they squirmed a little, which made for an awkward and slightly repulsive experience. Kinda like kissing a cross between a warm water baloon and a worm. Then I cupped my hand over my ear because I heard you were supposed to ask for Holy Breath when you got your first darshan. He did that hand motion thing from his mouth that seemed like a pretty good clue that I got it.
