I've answered your question, above, in the "Calm down, Jim" post - after a little hitch which meant you only originally read a short part of my reply. So if you go back and read it, it's all there now.

You say here that "EV asserts that he never made that claim and does indeed discourage that kind of thinking".

Firstly I don't agree that "EV asserts that he never made that claim". See my reply above.

Secondly, I wouldn't say that EV "does indeed discourage that kind of thinking" - I'd say EV discourages that kind of assertion, discourages that kind of stating in public, discourages people saying things which they do not KNOW to be true (note the word "KNOW"), discourages people from putting labels on Maharaji which may be unhelpful to other people (such as new people coming to Knowledge).

You also say that I have "also conceded that Rawat essentially controls or okays what EV says about him." Please don't put words in my mouth. (You've done that a few times.) I really don't know what the set-up is between Maharaji and the statements EV issue. EV exists in many countries in the world, and all of them issue statements from time to time, I have no idea how many or how often. The statement you quoted is on a website, and probably has been for some time, so I would ASSUME that Maharaji is well aware of that particular statement. I would be very surprised if he was not aware of it. But that is not the same thing as saying that I "concede that Rawat essentially controls or okays what EV says about him." Maybe he does, but I really do not know. Obviously, at the very least, what EV says is strongly influenced by what they perceive to be Maharaji's wishes. But just how much direct control Maharaji has over every EV statement, I really do not know.
