There is such a thing as truth? I’m not talking about some absolute truth, just the simple truth. The truth of the matter.

I remember at one time thinking I can see why ‘Maharaji’ wants us all to be so careful what we say to other people about him, in that people could be unreasonable, that it was therefore reasonable for ‘Maharaji’ to want to protect himself.

When we were trained to say “Mr Rawat, the guest speaker at a conference hosted by Elan Vital who has leased the property from Ivory’s Rock Conference Company is in attendance” instead of “Maharaji is at Amaroo” this was to protect him from, from what? Well I took it for granted that there could be nothing bad on his part, nothing he wanted to hide.

I still didn’t like it though. I don’t see why one person needs so many names, I did not like the duplicity of presentation.

At the time I just avoided it, but I have thought about it since…

Of course, longwinded as it is, the first version is the truth of the matter, it is the premies who get the coy little phrases. And who with a nod and a smile can enter the gates of the magical kingdom, that place where everyone knows Maharaji rules and everyone believes that what he wants is what is good for everyone, even those whose names he does not know, at the touch of a smart card.
