Anyone else here remember the 'satsang' regularly given by the Mahatma's about past devotees being willing to have one's head chopped off, never mind an arm?I remember being quite prepared to throw myself in front of anyone who threatened the living Lord with a knife or gun for instance. In fact it would have been an honour! Of course, the opportunity never did arise so I didn't have my devotion properly tested.
For those receiving knowledge now, these stories must seem outrageous and ridiculous. You really had to have been there. Now the con is so much more sophisticated and subtle. But it's still the same con - in fact it's much more insidious - you still end up surrendering your power.
