It is good to see you considering things the way you are. It is a form of critical reflection on assumptions. I want to add an extra dimension for you and see if this assists with what you are attempting which is never straightforward or easy.

I work with individuals and groups - these people often have profound insights and make significant changes to their lives as a consequence of this work. In my parlance - they have a transformation of a meaning perspective. In easier terms - they see the world through new eyes or different eyes.

Now there are times when these people want to thank me and give me a status that, quite frankly I don't deserve. I think it is at this point that I could gain their absolute dependency or I can continue to assit them to see what they have created in their own lives with some input from me as well as input from the rest of their lives. My ethics are to assist them to gain independence from me, as well as from the many other distorted or dysfunctional meaning perspectives they live with. To keep plugging away from a type of emancipatory education where they not only shift how they see the world but can continue to do so as and when required.

So I encourage you to keep going as you are. And maybe try adn see the world of MJ through other's eyes as well as your own.
