Hello Andries,

I am sorry that you had so much difficulties to find the periodical in which my article about DLM appeared. My article was the first one written in dutch in an academic periodical. What i tried was to present a balanced introduction, based on literature, but of cause especially based on my own experiences of attending meetings and talking to people (allmost every evening during the first year i was 'connected' to the Amsterdam community of DLM.

As you know i have written some some articles after that one (about the ISKCON for example, the Hare Krisha).

There is one thing which didn't change. In my conclusion in the DLM-article i have stated that a leader of a religious movement is an interesting object for insiders and outsiders to learn about the 'cult' and sometimes a very attractive object because of all the scandals and strange happenings which they are involved in.

For me personally the people involved are much more interesting. What does the involvement mean for their own development as a human being. Then you get very different stories. For one person it is a disaster, for another a short period of bliss, a kind of 'pause' in their life, and others have the feeling that they profit from their involvement.

Greetings,

pompel/wim
